Ron and I are feeling the effects of an empty nest...so we are going to join the Jackson's group for fellowship this month. 

Don't forget Thursday November 29th is a night of Praise/Worship and most importantly for prayer.

• Be in prayer for Anna Houston- the 4 oldest were tested for a bone marrow match, pray that one of them are a match so that the younger children won't have to be tested and so that Anna can receive treatment without further delay she is VERY dear to us and the entire Houston family testimony is amazing. 

          God Bless the Houston's for their faith.

Wow what an AWESOME Sunday
1. absolutely amazing worship rehearsal
2. Worship team was uninhindered...
3. Hurting souls were comforted not only at church but at the beach
4. Our teens like being together...thank you Susan for delivering the missing pieces!
5. The people who came to our lifegroup and those who visited have a real passion for the teens.
6. We have some natural leaders in our teen group: Kyle and Lena
7. Tim, Teresa, Kai, Susan, Ron and I love the teens and want to live and work with them more....
Thank you Jesus for hearing our prayers we are going to ACT...on our prayers and see what you do with them!

PACK UP ISOM'S LIFEGROUP...we are headed to the beach on Sunday at 4:00 p.m.
Be praying between now and then that it is a balmy spring evening! 
Ideas for food would be good...thinking typical beach food...smores (of course start with sweets first)
hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, veggies? etc.  Let Ron, Tim Teresa or I know what you are bringing...we would like the teens to join us too so whatever you bring, bring enough for a couple of teens.  Also bring your prayer requests and testimonies of the water pots you have thrown down!

Starting in May coffee will be scheduled like nursery; Suzy J and I will work on coordinating the two so that we do not have people in both ministries at the same time, even though in emergencies it would work out.  Please let me know if you are still interested in doing coffee or are interested and have never done it!

I have NO idea why that song was going through my head today...Yesterday it was Amazing Grace by women of faith...go figure when I am in the dish pit I have a TON of creative thoughts...LOL ok maybe you don't think they are but they are...I was also singing...I love the way you hold me...from Jaime Grace...
So this is the week leading up to our Spring event...EASTER!!! and the resurrection of our Lord and Savior...please be praying for the worship team, the greeters, the ushers, the weather, the building, the sound guys, (especially my handsome husband Ron) prayer for the spouse of the worship team and sound guys...it's not easy to be at home taking care of kiddos etc. by yourself.
Be praying for our community and the people you have invited to come to the service...be praying for those who have to work and cannot come and those individuals who are not able to come due to illness. Pray for our Pastor to have a message that speaks to the lost, the searching and the blessed! WOW...we are going to need knee pads...that's ok we serve a BIG GOD and He's not dead he's surely alive He's living on the inside ROARING like a Lion...So grab your pillow and this list a pray until you cannot pray any longer!!!
PRAISE THE LORD Jane Connelly accepted Jesus as her savior Sunday night...and He is smiling down on her...
Remember to pray for Shaylyn and Jane at 2:00 on Friday...Shaylyn has a DHS hearing that will decide where our little Faith will live and I can tell you Jesus wants her with her church family!
Also be praying for the requests that we made known to one another.
Thank you for our life group, I had so much fun hanging with Holly, Lena, Teresa, Shaylyn, Jane, Ali, Jonny, and of course Jerritt, Tim, Kyle, Anthony and of course my beloved Ron...be praying about our teens and what we talked about...Tim, and Ron will bring it to Pastor after Easter!!! Love you guys SO much...don't forget to be there at 3:30 Thursday evening if you are helping to pack up the sound equipment and 9:00 a.m. for greeting Easter Sunday at the Liberty with your Red shirts on, I thought we were getting Robins egg blue shirts or pretty purple shirts...I guess not oh well, there is always next year!

SERVICE WEEK THIS WEEK...UPDATE...

Suzy Jackson is now scheduling nursery and utilizing the servants from the life groups.

Thursday Coffee: Teresa will be finding someone to help Jerritt out, and btw, Jerritt will be a little late he doesn't get off until 5:30 but I am thinking you may be doing coffee through out the painting night just so you know.

Sunday Coffee: Jen and Jarrett be there no later than 9:30 a.m. and remember coffee is being made after service as well for a while...and then clean up...you don't have to clean up before service starts.

Sunday is also our life group meeting, Tim and Teresa are hosting it so they have the details on where, when and what to bring. Call or text Teresa at 503- 791- 2995.

Well we ended up watching the Superbowl...something about Anthony getting there early and turning the TV on...Oh boy! Everyone had a great time all of our core group was there and we had some new families attend as well. Jed & Jen Smith and their two boys, as well as Holly and Lance.
We had three ice-cream cakes to celebrate Teresa and Sarah's birthday's as well as our two Isom's life group members who were baptized owners on Sunday Jerrit and Shaylyn. Please be praying for Tim and I as we disciple members of our group, and be inviting new people to our group.

Also we are looking for ideas on activities you would like to do as the weather gets nicer...different venues for our meeting so get back to Ron or I on that, and get with Teresa on themes for food!

We are still looking for people to fill the roles of prayer leaders for our group and service week coordinator. If you are interested PLEASE let us know!

Prayer requests:

1. Shaylyn and Jane think they have found a place...let's make sure we are a blessing to them when the time comes for them to move.
2. Be praying for Jane she will be having some medical procedures done in the near future.

I will be posting March's service assignments early because Ron and I will be on vacation from the 24th of February to March 5th which is our next Life group meeting and our service weeks starts on the 1st of March. We need two people for coffee on both days Thursday March 1st and March 5th
2 nursery workers for both days 1st and the 5th.

We will be missing Kat as she travels back to Nevada with her husband and little girls, be praying for their journey as well as for God to be in all of their lives guiding them.

The Ownership Class is coming up this Saturday at 6:00pm. It WILL be held at the
church, nursery will be provided, but there will be no meal as previously
thought.

This coming Sunday January 22nd the marriage series starts.

Wednesday January 25th please Join Life west as we travel to Life east in Knappa for the
midweek service. (No Thursday service in Astoria) The address to the former
Immanual Lutheran Church is 42417 Valley Creek Lane. Travel through the Knappa
intersection (where the Logger Restaurant is) and on the east end of town, on
Highway 30, you will turn left onto Valley Creek Lane. The church is ahead on
your left. If you continue on Highway 30 up a long hill, you have gone to far;
turn around and make a right on Valley Creek Lane! Knappa ladies will be
providing lots of tasty deserts, there is also a nursery.

• Thursday night church services starts back up this week. 6:30 p.m.
  
• Ownership Class is January 21st:If you are interested in becoming a more committed part of the church body, come find out what it all means. Child care and a meal will be provided. 6pm?
• Marriage Series starts January 22nd Pastor will be preaching a four week series of messages to encourage the best marriages possible and will end on Sunday Night, Feb 12th with a date night challenge service! (more to come)
• East Meets West January 25th this night will be a combination mid-week service, which will be held in Knappa at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, this is an opportunity to get to know our East church congregation.
• Dating is back...sign up for your same life group or if you would like to check some others out here is your opportunity, I am not sure how long the dating period will be open for however in the mean time remember to serve in your current life group during their service week!

New Year...NO FEAR!!!

We had our first life group meeting of the new year...on new years day!
Life groups are in the "dating" stage again...we had two 1st timers tonight welcome to Jarret and Karisa. We had Chili and Squash soup, a time of fellowship, a short message and a time or sharing. As Shaylyn put it, Pastor's message today was just what she needed and it spoke to her heart, as well as several of our other life group family, and tonight's life group meeting at the Isoms brought a time of intimacy and vulnerability as we shared how today's message touched our hearts. Ron brought a message out of I Samuel 14:6 about David and his armor bearer...taking the first steps and if it is God's will he will help you...NO fear!!! Just do something... God will bless it! That being said...I have updated the line up for our service week.
